The Morgan County Commissioners are currently working on a project to retrofit area buildings to save money and improve energy efficiency. Innovate Corporation is a company that the commissioners have been working with to provide new improvements to eight local buildings. Appearing on KFTM radio's Big Morning Talk Show yesterday, Commissioner Brian McCracken introduced the community to the positive aspects of the project, such as those that the Fort Morgan School system is already seeing. Dave Cornwell with the commissioners' building maintenance, also appeared on yesterday's show highlighting some of the improvements coming to the buildings. $750,000 for the buildings will be the approximate cost of the project, but there is a guaranteed return. The Brush Chamber of Commerce's Ag Appreciation Supper is coming up this weekend! This salute to farmers, ranchers and ag businesses in the Brush area will be taking place at the Brush High School on Saturday. The featured speaker will be Hagerstown, Indiana strawberry farmer Ed Bell. Bell will be sharing stories about adversity that he has overcome throughout the course of his life. "Well, I was invited to come down and share stories about my farming operation. they also said that folks like to laugh, so I'm going to try and accomplish both of those goals," says Bell, who has survived a criminal attack that left him paralyzed. He has also suffered through a fire that destroyed his family home in 1995. Bell says that if there's one message that he can give to farmers and other people facing adversity, it's just to focus on what really matters in life. "In the end, it's the people and the rlationships you build that really make a difference when you breathe your last breath." For tickets to the Ag Appreciation Dinner, contact the Brush Chamber or any of their sponsors, such as the Bank of Colorado in Brush, City of Brush, East Morgan County Hospital, Hi Plains Correctional Facility, and the Brush Chamber of Commerce.
