The 3rd annual Sight from the Heart will be held in Brush on Friday, May 18th. For more information call 842-5166.


Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan will be hosting a kickball tournament on Saturday, May 19th. Cost is $50 per team of 6-8 people. All proceeds will go to the Valley View Villa Relay for Life team. For more information or to register a team, call Brittany Staley at Valley View Villa at 867-8261.


The Denver Field Ornithologists will meet at the Rigli Ranch on Saturday, May 19th to search for migrating birds.  Bring a sack lunch, water, binoculars, bird field guide and dress for the weather.  For more information, call 867-5210.


The "Family Campers and RVers" will be holding their Spring Fling Rally at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Brush on Thursday, May 17th through Sunday, May 20th.  This will mark the 11th year of this event.  A parade of chapters will be held on Clayton Street in Brush on Saturday beginning at 10am.  The theme is "Thank You Brush."  Everyone is encouraged to come out and enjoy the parade.


Hospice of the Plains will be offering a Grief Support Group at the Hospice office in Sterling each Tuesday evening from 6:30pm to 8pm beginning on May 22nd.  This is open & free to the public.  For more information, or to register, call Deb Neal at 526-7901.


Registration for the Fort Morgan Library Summer Reading Programs for both kids and adults will be held May 21st through the 26th.  Everyone is encouraged to register online at the library website during this time.


“Five Ways to a Vivid Character” will be the main topic at the next Spunk and Spirit Christian Writers Group meeting on Monday, May 21, at 6:30-8 pm at Life Fellowship in Fort Morgan. Bring writing material for practice. The group will also hear reports from the Colorado Christian Writers Conference. Free materials from the conference will be available. Free blood pressure checks are offered at the Colorado Plains Medical Center Specialty Clinic in Fort Morgan on the last Tuesday of each month from 4pm to 6pm.  The next date is May 29th.


The Children's Center at Sherman Early Childhood Center in Fort Morgan will be providing a Summer Camp Program for children ages 5 to 12, Monday through Friday from 7am to 5:30pm.  For more information, call 370-6183.


The Morgan County "Giovanni" Gold Tournament & Scholarship Auction will be held on Friday, June 1st at the Quail Dunes Golf Course in Fort Morgan with registration at 2pm and 2-person scramble shotgun start at 3pm.  Proceeds will benefit the Morgan County CSU Student Scholarship Fund.  For more information or to register, call Ed at 768-1591, Kevin at 303-888-7522, Tim at 867-8281 or Travis at 580-2888.


The 2nd annual Merino Ram Booster Club Golf Tournament will be held at the Riverview Golf Course in Sterling on Saturday, June 2nd with an 8:30am shotgun start.  This is a 4-man scramble.  Entry fee is $200 per team.  All proceeds will benefit the Merino Rams athletic and activities programs.  Register at the golf course or mail entries with name of players and entry fees to P.O. Box 19, Merino, CO 80741.


The Division of Wildlife, Morgan County Extension Service, the City of Brush and the National Wild Turkey Federation South Platte Chapter will be hosting the “Fishing is Fun and Wildlife Education Day”, for children ages 14 & under, on Saturday, June 2nd at 9am at Wacker Ponds, north of Brush on Highway 71. This is an outdoor educational class about fishing as well as archery instruction. Each attendee will receive a free fishing pole with bait. Hot dogs & drinks will be provided for kids.


The Huck Finn Fishing Derby, for ages 5-15, will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, beginning at 9:30am at the far east end of Riverside Park Nature Trails in Fort Morgan. Come dressed as Huck Finn or Becky Thatcher and be eligible for great prizes!!  For more information contact Tio Charlies- 542-0100.


The “Jeff Mickey Memorial Summer Sizzler Youth Tournament” will be held on June 15th through the 17th in Brush. There will be both girl's fast pitch softball and boy's baseball divisions. Entry fee is $200 per team and is due by June 8th. A pool party & BBQ will be held on Saturday, June 16th. Families may join in for $5 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Brush Lion's Club “Jeff Mickey Scholarship Fund.”

The 15th annual Brad Amack Memorial Softball Tournament & Charity Auction will be held in Brush on June 23rd & 24th. Team fee is $150 due by June 18th. Funds from the tournament will go to the Brad Amack Endowment Scholarship & other local city projects. For more information, call 842-5280.


The Food Bank of the Rockies mobile pantry truck will be at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Brush June 27 from 10am-12pm, providing food assistance to community members. There are no qualifications, membership fees, or eligibility forms to complete. Product is distributed on a first come, first served basis. The Weldon Valley Alumni Association will be hosting the Weldon Valley All School Reunion on August 11th, 2012. They are looking for any graduates who have changed their address. The 2nd annual Prairie Challenge, benefitting the SARA House in Fort Morgan, will be held on Saturday, August 18th at the Longmeadow Event Center, south of Wiggins. There will be prairie golf, a trapshoot, ladies prairie walk & Texas Hold 'em Poker.
